Below the miles-thick, icy shell of one of Jupiter’s moons, Europa, is a vast ocean that’s totally unexplored. A group of scientists drilled through the ice and sent a crewed submarine into the depths… which was very soon attacked and destroyed by an unknown number of enormous life forms. You play, in this GM-less, solo journaling TTRPG, as (presumably) the sole survivor of that attack, having escaped via a life pod into the dark, frigid depths of Europa’s ocean.

Your hope is to find a place where the moon’s icy shell is thin enough for your life pod to drill through. Once you reach the surface, you can erect a distress beacon with a signal strong enough to reach the far edges of the solar system and thereby be rescued. However, your pod is far from alone in the depths—alien leviathans of unknown physiology share these waters with you, and you can only evade them for so long.

It’s very possible that you won’t survive to reach the surface, but you have to try.

To play this game, you will need... a deck of playing cards with the jokers removed, game tokens of some kind, a coin, something to write with, and something to write upon.

There is a version of the game document that uses the OpenDyslexic font, for greater accessibility for dyslexic readers. It is labeled as such in the file name. Both documents are as printer friendly as I can make them (aside from the cover page).

I had lots of fun playing this game! And it’s very convenient cause it doesn’t demand many materials.

I do think it could have leaned a little more heavily on the role play aspect with each card, but the more technical parts of the game and its rules with very well developed.
